Jing was scared.Today was her first day at a new school.Everything was different.
Jing's old school was small.Her new school was huge!It even had a garden.
"Good morning, Jing," said Mr. Jeffs.
"Good morning," said Jing.Her voice was a whisper.She didn't know any of the other children.She missed her friends at the old school.
"Our school fair is next week," said Mr. Jeffs.
"What is our class doing for the fair?" asked Lucy.
"We can grow vegetables in the garden," said Sam.
"Then we can sell them," said Chico.
"It's too late," said Mr. Jeffs."Vegetables need time to grow."
"Let's grow sprouts," Jing whispered.
"That's a good idea, Jing," said Mr. Jeffs.
"My family grows sprouts at home," said Jing."They grow very fast."
Everyone was excited."We can grow sprouts!"
"Jing can show us how to grow them," said Mr. Jeffs.
