Jani put her schoolbooks on the kitchen table.Her cat was sitting on the kitchen floor."I'm so glad to see you, Stripes!" Jani said. "I missed you."
Stripes opened his eyes and blinked at Jani.He was a pretty cat with stripes on his fur.Jani thought he looked like a small tiger.She picked up the cat. She sat with him on a chair."Stripes, you will never believe what we learned in school today," Jani said.
Stripes looked at her. "Long ago, people made coats from leopard skins," Jani said."Some people still make coats from cat fur.It makes me so mad!" Jani thought Stripes was mad, too.
