Chapter 1 The Trip Begins
Dad calls into my room and says,
"Are you up? It's time!"
"I'm up!" I say.
I race to get dressed.
Dad is taking me on a trip today!
He's going to show me where he lived when he was little.
It will be just the two of us together.
"Don't forget your camera," Dad says.
"I didn't forget.
I'm going to take lots of pictures.
I'm going to need paper to write about our trip."
I can see snow on the ground.
It's so cold, I can even see my breath.
Soon we are off.
There are trees and snow on each side of the street.
In about an hour, I read a sign.
It says, "Pine Lake."
Soon we are on Main Street.
Chapter 2 We See the Town
"Come on!" Dad says, after we park the car.
"That's my favorite place!"
We go into Dot's Bake Shop.
It smells good inside.
I have a bun. It's a yummy treat!
"You were hungry," says Dad.
