"I'm so nervous I can't see," Caroline whispered to Maggie,
peeking out from behind the black curtain onto the stage of the auditorium.
"No kidding," Maggie whispered back. The bright stage lights shone right in their eyes.
Bert nervously chewed a pencil, Caroline hopped from foot to foot, and Maggie could feel her palms sweating.
The bright lights, the audience, and the pressure to win were more than the team had counted on.
