CHAPTER 4 Another Humpback!
Most of the kids were still eating their lunches, but Pierre and I were standing at the rail.
We were watching a big white ship passing by on the horizon.
Then something suddenly burst out of the water—between us and the white ship.
A huge whale's tail! "Captain Wright!" we yelled. "A big whale!"
Captain Wright looked through one of those spyglasses like you see in books about pirates.
"It's a humpback," he said, "and he's lobtailing.
