When Stella woke up that morning, the sun was streaming through her window.She had the strange feeling that something was going to happen that day.Something good. She decided to spend the day in her favorite place - her own backyard.Pulling on a shirt and shorts, she went downstairs for breakfast with her parents.
"What are you going to do today?" her mother asked.
"Stay outside! Summer is almost over.I won't be able to spend whole days outside once school begins."
Her father looked at her over the top of his newspaper.He knew how much she loved the outdoors."That sounds fine, Stella," he said. "Just don't fall asleep under a tree."
Stella laughed. "I never fall asleep outside."
After breakfast, Stella packed a lunch and put it in her backpack.She took along a book in case she felt like reading. Then she went outside.
