They were standing in front of a row of small trees. In front of them lay a road.Beyond that, a long, low dome stood next to a fenced-in field.Farther down, some of the tallest buildings Oliver had ever seen stretched into the sky, which was hazy pink.Sunset in the middle of the day.
"Pollution effect," Jessica pointed out, shaking her head sadly.
Then came a sudden whooshing noise. Something fast zipped down the road.The vehicle was a half sphere that skimmed about two feet above the road.It stopped and hovered in front of the dome.People emerged and entered through a pair of gigantic sliding doors.
