The mountain lion paused, then turned away with a snarl.
Just as Carmen sank to the ground in relief, the sound of running feet could be heard coming down the trail toward her and Mama."I think the rock-throwing noises came from over there," a man's voice called out.Two men in rangers' uniforms soon appeared with flashlights, and one asked, "Are you two OK?"
