I think I'll run away.
I'm writing this diary to keep a record of my summer.I want to be able to reread my diary to remember the worst thing Mama and Papa ever did to me: making me move!
We were enjoying a perfectly nice dinner tonight when they suddenly delivered the terrible newsthat we're going to drive down to my grandparents' farm in Texas in three days!Mama and Papa will come back to Chicago to sell our house, but I have to stay with Abuelo and Abuela.
I was furious when they told me, and I even started shouting.I know I upset Mama because she said, "We don't shout in this house, Manolo Campos."Usually she calls me Manny, and she never uses my whole name unless she's very angry.
