Here we are at Central Middle School, two weeks after my team crushed the Colts at Lancewood. At least we won one of the debates that day. Losing both would have been way too humiliating.
This school doesn't have an ounce of character, so it's no wonder that the Colts are such horrendous debaters. It's obvious that they've had everything handed to them on a silver platter.
The debate hall is completely devoid of atmosphere. The seats are covered in fancy fabric, and the stage doesn't have a scratch on it, but so what? It's nothing compared to the Lion's Den, and the Colts are nothing compared to us.
Sean's team is up soon. Justin and his crew allowed Sean and the Colts to walk away with a victory last time, and I haven't let Justin forget it, either. The Lions are a legacy, so what would it say about me as a leader if we lost on my watch?
We have to win - there's no other option. We're the league champions on the threshold of greatness. We'll be the first team in league history to win the title three times if we can take out the champs next month. The Lions are winners, and I need to guarantee that Sean and the Colts remain losers.
