Roberto climbed steadily up the tree.After half an hour, he stopped to catch his breath. He sat down on a branch.The mice tumbled out of his pocket, landing in a jumble next to him. The mice looked around.
"Wow!" the first mouse said. "Look at how high up we are."
Roberto looked down, then suddenly wished he hadn't.It was a long way to the ground. He hoped he didn't have to climb much higher.
"He's scared," the first mouse whispered scornfully.
"He is not scared," the second mouse answered. "Roberto's brave," said the third.
"He's going to save the Sad One," the last mouse said.
